Canada’s History
A full-scale branding of Canada’s second oldest magazine, The Beaver, and its associated society, Canada’s National History Society, included the brand strategy, naming, logo design, program logos, magazine logo, font design,
brand style guide, fundraising brochure, magazine design consult and website design/strategy consult.
the challenge // take a brand that was divided and dated (separate logos and looks for each program), and move it into the 21st century without relinquishing the “love of history and patriotism” inherent to the organization.
our solution // a single integrated brand that is fresh, engaging and relevant that works across all programs. Canada's History's in-house team was then able to apply this new brand style guide to their redesigns. The magazine redesign (pictured top) pushed brand recognition and sales well beyond targets and the website was a two-time Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPA) Finalist (pictured bottom).
